There is much to do in and around the island of Phuket.
Kata has one of the best beaches on Phuket, with fine golden sand curving round the large, undeveloped bay. With clear blue water and safe swimming the beach has much to offer and is never crowded, even on the busiest days of the year.
There is a coral reef for snorkelling and long tail boats for hire to take you to the neighbouring islands and beaches.
There is an abundance of restaurants on the beach to suit all tastes and pockets, from traditional Thai dishes to sophisticated silver service with fine wines.
Kata town is small but very lively; the centre is just a short walk from the Aspasia apartments. You will find everything you need here, including an impressive and challenging crazy golf course set in rainforest. You can even buy some bananas to feed to the local elephants that can be found each evening in the town.
